What is Earth Day?

The first “Earth Day” was celebrated on 22 April 1970 in America. The Americans called on all the people on earth to take care of the earth. They wanted people to use the forests, rivers, mountains and earth carefully so that the earth will remain useful to our next generations to come. They felt that the forests, land, sea and wildlife were being exploited without any thought for the future.

Earth Day is a day of celebration. It is celebrate with speeches, poster drawing competition and other contests to let people know about important to caring the earth.
